Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors signs autographs before Game 2 of the Western Conference first-round playoff series between the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings at Golden 1 Center on April 17, 2023, in Sacramento, Calif.

A young fan wearing a Steph Curry jersey missed the opportunity of a lifetime Monday when he failed to realize the Warriors star was trying to dap him up.

The incident happened ahead of Game 2 of the Kings-Warriors playoff series in Sacramento during pregame warmups. While shooting a three, Curry must have noticed a young fan walking behind him, as the kid even stopped to admire the shot. After Curry landed from his jump shot, he turned around to acknowledge the fan, but the kid was a step ahead and had already passed him. The Dubs star then gave himself an elaborate handshake and got back to his warmup.

Just as Curry got back to shooting, a staffer told the kid to turn around and accept the low-five, but the moment had already passed. The clip cuts out right as the fan realizes what he missed out on.

No word on whether the fan got another opportunity to meet Curry, even if it was for a brief hello.

It’s been a tough couple of games for Curry with fans. During Game 1 of this first-round playoff series, a young fan was spotted taunting Curry about De’Aaron Fox dropping nearly 40 on the Dubs. Ahead of Game 2, a supposed fan of Golden State accidentally gave him the cold shoulder. Maybe Curry will get better treatment from local youths when the series moves to San Francisco on Thursday.
