A familiar face popped up in WandaVision Episode 4, but who is Darcy Lewis and where has she appeared in the MCU before?

WandaVision is the first Marvel Cinematic Universe property to arrive on any of our screens in over a year. Streaming on Disney Plus, it is the first Marvel Studios TV show and it carries on the story that the previous 23 films had told.

Kicking off the fourth phase of the MCU, it wasted no time in highlighting that we’re in a new era for Marvel. But, as evidenced by its leading characters – Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch and Paul Bettany’s Vision – it isn’t afraid to use established characters to take us into that new era.

Another familiar face showed up in WandaVision Episode 4, as Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) aided SWORD in their investigation into Wanda’s forcefield in Westview. Fans undoubtedly recognized Darcy, with many of them wondering where they had seen her before. Let’s find out.

Darcy Lewis previously appeared in the Thor movies. A former student of political science at Culver University, she played prominent roles in Thor (2011) and Thor: The Dark World (2013). She became Erik Selvig’s (Stellan Skarsgård) intern and Jane Foster’s (Natalie Portman) assistant.

Throughout the course of both movies, she had a strong rapport with both Erik and Jane. We last saw her in The Dark World whenever she passionately kissed her own intern Ian Boothby during Thor and Malekith’s battle. Afterwards, she completed university and graduated with a doctorate.

She then, at some point in time, ended up working with Agent Jimmy Woo while investigating the strange occurrences in Westview.

Dennings did not reprise the role in Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and it’s currently unknown if she’ll return in Thor: Love and Thunder.

WandaVision adds a new episode on Disney+ every Friday from midnight.
