Von Miller tells fans not to worry after his season-ending surgery: ‘Don’t blink, baby’

Von Miller spent the majority of his time in Buffalo since arriving back in March enjoying the ride with a giant smile on his face.

That didn’t change on Wednesday despite the disheartening news that his season is over.

During planned exploratory surgery on his right knee, doctors found significant damage to his ACL and opted to repair it, effectively ending Miler’s 2022 season.

Miller posted a video from his hospital bed in Texas on Wednesday, one day after surgery, with a message for Bills Mafia.

“I’m good, man. I’ll be right back, man,” Miller said. “Mentally I couldn’t be in a better spot and I think that is the majority of it. Don’t feel sorry for me. Don’t say I hate it for you – none of that stuff because I am good.”

The Bills sit atop the AFC after 13 weeks of the season with a 9-3 record, tied with the Kansas City Chiefs and a game up on the division-rival Miami Dolphins. Miller was billed as the missing piece for a Bills team that came 13 seconds from advancing to the AFC title game a season ago. Now the team will have to move on and try to reach the Super Bowl without the 33-year-old All Pro.

This marks the second time (2013) in Miller’s career that he tore the ACL in his right knee. Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White tore his ACL on Thanksgiving in 2021 and he took almost a full year before he returned to the field.

Miller suffered the injury in this year’s Thanksgiving win over the Detroit Lions.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to show my teammates how tough I am,” Miller said. “how hard I work, and how important this means to me. I love you guys and I appreciate you guys, all love and respect. Don’t blink, baby.”
