Virat Kohli Was Visibly Frustrated As A Wrong Call From Ajinkya Rahane Cost Him His Wicket
Rahane #Rahane
The captain of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli was playing a great innings and had worked back up to get his side comfortable during the final moments of Day 1 of the first Test between India and Australia but one small mistake on the opposite end cost the skipper his wicket.
Batting at 74, Kohli looked set and in search of his maiden century against the Australians when, he, alongside Ajinkya Rahane, who will lead the team in the rest of the Test matches, were sitting on a 88-run partnership.
But Kohli’s dreams came crashing down when he followed Rahane’s call for a single from the non-striker’s end, only to see his partner run back inside the crease by the time he’d already crossed half of pitch’s distance.
A desperate Virat Kohli tried making it back towards his crease but it was too late as bowler Nathan Lyon had already ripped the bails off by the time.
Visibly frustrated and very rightly so, Kohli paused for a moment to look towards an apologetic Rahane and walked off with his head hanging low.
Here’s how the fans reacted:
All good things must come to an end… even if it is not your fault.
Kohli now has just the second innings of the first Test to perform as a batsman, before he returns home to his wife Anushka Sharma to witness the birth of their first child.
