Travis Kelce was not thrilled with Justin Tucker’s decision to stretch near Patrick Mahomes’ warmup area.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end threw Tucker’s kicking balls and helmets out of the path of Mahomes ahead of Sunday’s AFC Championship Game matchup between the Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens, much to the seeming amusement of the veteran kicker:

Mahomes then tossed away Tucker’s holding tee himself:

This isn’t the first time that Tucker chose to warm up in the opposing team’s end zone—Matt Barrows of The Athletic reported that he also did so in the San Francisco 49ers’ end of the field before Baltimore’s 33-19 win on Christmas night.

Nothing like a little bit of gamesmanship and tension to open an AFC Championship Game. For some players, seeing an opponent toss your team’s helmet would be a major no-no, though Tucker is more than aware that warming up where he did would rile up the Chiefs.

Still, it sets the stage for what should be a fantastic matchup.

The teams haven’t faced off since Week 2 in the 2021 season, a 36-35 Ravens win. The Chiefs went on to lose in the AFC Championship Game that season while the Ravens missed the playoffs altogether, losing six straight games to close the year in part due to a Lamar Jackson ankle injury that cost him four starts.

This year’s Ravens have been a force to be reckoned with, however, going 6-3 in the regular season against teams that reached the playoffs before blowing out the Houston Texans in the Wild Card Round. Lamar Jackson is the presumptive MVP and the defense has been excellent.

But bet against Mahomes in the playoffs at your own risk. He, alongside an excellent defense, have authored wins over the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills in this postseason.

The stage is set for a fantastic matchup. Tucker just helped to light some pregame fireworks.
