Video shows what Mikel Arteta did with Kai Havertz at the final whistle at Brentford

Kai Havertz was the Arsenal hero tonight as he came off the bench to seal a massive win for the Gunners at Brentford.

Havertz poked home from a great piece of play from Bukayo Saka to send the Arsenal fans home delighted and finally get his big moment in a Gunners shirt.

The German has come under fire all season long for some sub-par performances and it felt like he was going to be out of the picture tonight as well after being left out from the start.

However, Havertz did the business, scoring a big goal at an important time to show why Mikel Arteta decided to shell out on him in the summer.

And at the full-time whistle, Arteta made sure Havertz had all the Arsenal fans singing his name

Those watching the game live will have picked up on this as well but the Arsenal boss was seen immediately going for Havertz once the handshakes were done with.

From there, Arteta made sure to put the German in a headlock and drag him over towards the Arsenal fans in the away end, who duly chanted his name and lauded the forward.

Defining moment

Kai Havertz was always going to get a moment at some point this season and this one could be massive.

He scored a huge goal for Chelsea when they won the Champions League and this one, albeit not on the same stage, felt just as big for the player himself.

Havertz is a capable player and has it in the locker to produce, he just needs to do it more.

The touch from Arteta here to take him over to the fans was a nice one as well. Arsenal fans will hope to see more of this sort of thing from their big-money signing.

Hopefully, for Arsenal fans anyway, it’s a positive sign.
