As more and more information about EA College Football 25 surfaces, ESPN’s Chris Fowler finally had the chance to share what his role in the game will be.
Fowler, a long-time broadcaster for ESPN, will have a character in the game, serving alongside Kirk Herbstreit and others as an in-game commentator. On Friday, Fowler detailed the process of working with EA over the last two years.
“It has been fun, it has been taxing sometimes,” he said. “Monotonous at other times because everything you could possibly see in a football game, even the mundane plays, I’ve said into that microphone many many different ways. Bunch of stuff you’d never see in a real game, I’ve described.”
Fowler said that he has spent hours recording different variations of plays, calling touchdowns for all 134 FBS teams, from Alabama to Wyoming. He also said he’s been working with Herbstreit to record different scenarios that would be heard during a real game.
“Kirk and I have had joint sessions playing off of each other like you would in a real booth,” Fowler said. “It’s going to be incredible detail. What I’ve seen of the game will blow people away and really excited for you to see it.”
A full reveal of the game is expected to come out in May, with the game itself coming out sometime this summer following 10 years of anticipation from college football fans.
While there is limited information about the game at the moment, fans at least know that some of their favorite commentators will be featured, and Fowler’s update is sure to up the excitement even more.
