Victoria Beckham’s flagship shop seemingly didn’t receive a much-needed boost on Black Friday.

While shoppers across the country formed lengthy queues outside various retail stores, hoping to land a bargain and take advantage of the discounts on offer, the Spice Girls singer’s flagship store in London was snapped looking very quiet on Friday morning.

Despite the ongoing cost of living crisis, Black Friday sales this year remained consistent compared to last year’s activity London’s High Street, but Victoria’s shop on Dover Street appeared not to attract as many bargain hunters and Christmas shoppers as rival businesses did.

Pictures of the star’s shop looking deserted, taken at 10am on Friday morning, come as it’s revealed Victoria’s fashion label faces an uncertain future, thanks to the business amassing debts of debts of £53.9million.

Victoria, 48, was eager to push her fashion and beauty lines on social media on Friday, as she took to her Instagram Stories to update her 30.3million followers on her special Black Friday offers.

The mum-of-four let her fans know how they could get their hands of a free ‘Posh Gloss’ (lipgloss) when shopping on the Victoria Beckham Beauty website this weekend, and revealed the entire site was offering 20% off all products.

Victoria – whose husband David Beckham is reportedly bagging £150 million for his controversial Qatar World Cup deal – then went on to post the first of three grid posts to her main page promoting her fashion line to anyone looking for a new festive outfit.

“Elevate your partywear game with fluid fuschia satin and figure-skimming silhouettes. #VBPSS23,” the designer captioned one of the special edits on Friday. “Shop the eveningwear edit at VictoriaBeckham.com and 36 Dover Street.”

Victoria originally launched her own fashion label in 2008 with a small collection of dresses, but has since expanded and now sells handbags, shoes, coats and more – in addition to the star branching out into the beauty industry too.

Earlier this year, the Mirror revealed how Victoria’s fashion brand now faces an uncertain future thanks to concerning revenue figures.

In August, it was reported how the designer brand and her new make-up firm lost £6.6million in 2020. In 2019, it racked up £15.6m in debts.

The company founded by Posh is still in the red to the tune of £53.9m – with £29m owed to the Beckhams ’ other business ventures.

A spokeswoman for Victoria confirmed the figures for her fashion label – which sells £500 jumpers and £400 jeans – were accurate.

A report said: “Total revenues for the Victoria Beckham Holdings group fell 6% to £36.1m (2019 – £38.3m) due to the effects of the global pandemic.

“This group rapidly responded to the effects of the pandemic and controlled its cash and expenditure which led to a significant reduction in its operating losses by 57%, thanks to cost efficiencies across the business and the recalibration of its business model to make it sustainable for the longer term.

“Victoria Beckham Beauty continues to expand its portfolio with a number of successful product launches in this year with best in class in clean luxury beauty and skincare.”

In the same month, it was also revealed how Victoria was expanding the sizes of clothes available in some of her fashion collections, seemingly in a bid to reach more customers.

A new collection released by the former singer in August featured 12 pieces for women who wear a size six and all the way up to size 18 – a first for the brand.

A source close to the label told The Mail at the time: “Finally Victoria has caught up. It’s great and she is extremely proud -of her new collection.

“There is a whole new customer out there to buy her products but let’s face it, it has taken her a while but at least she is changing things.”
