The Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Reverse Grinch” will release this month as one of the most highly anticipated drops of the year, and Vanessa Bryant has good news for those looking to land a pair.

In an Instagram story, the widow of Kobe Bryant said the “Reverse Grinch” will release with three times the units “it’s ever been before.” She also added that more frequent Nike Kobe releases are on the way and that she hopes her and Nike can get to a place where more of the demand can be met.

Paying homage to the iconic Kobe 6 “Grinch” sneakers that Bryant wore for his Christmas Day game in 2010, the “Reverse Grinch” features an inverse color scheme swapping green for red across the snakeskin-textured upper and will release Dec. 15. The original “Grinch” sneakers released as a surprise drop on the day Bryant wore them and the colorway was then duplicated on the retooled Kobe 6 Protro for the 10th anniversary in 2020. Ever since, the Kobe 6 Protro “Grinch” has remained a fixture on NBA courts.

As the manager of the late Bryant’s estate, Vanessa negotiated a new deal with Nike to see the Kobe line relaunch with new releases in August. The last deal Bryant had signed with Nike expired in 2021.

December will also see the release of the Kobe 4 Protro “Black Mamba” in an all-black colorway with another faux-snakeskin texture. The sneakers will also release alongside a matching varsity jacket and Los Angeles Lakers jersey featuring both of Bryant’s numbers, 8 and 24.

Among the Nike Kobe releases expected for 2024 are the Kobe 8 Protro “Court Purple” and “Radiant Emerald,” both of which feature an all-over print of Bryant’s two numbers across their knit uppers.
