USMNT vs. Uruguay live score: Updates as Christian Pulisic and company face fellow 2022 World Cup participant

World Cup #WorldCup

After a 3-0 victory over Morocco on Wednesday, the United States men’s national team will face their toughest test of the summer against Uruguay on Sunday in a friendly. The South American side are coming off of a 3-0 friendly win over Mexico in what was a dominant, one-sided performance for Diego Alonso’s side. Gregg Berhalter has already named his lineup for the match which is dependent on Antonee Robinson’s fitness as he deals with a non-COVID illness.

The United States will play with this starting XI: Sean Johnson; DeAndre Yedlin, Walker Zimmerman, Aaron Long, Antonee Robinson or Joe Scally; Tyler Adams, Yunus Musah, Weston McKennie; Christian Pulisic, Jesus Ferreira, Tim Weah.

It’s another look at the first team ahead of the World Cup as they face very strong opposition. If they can push the pace, Uruguay can concede chances with an aging defense, but with the quality available to Alonso in attack, including Edinson Cavani, Darwin Nunez and Maxi Gomez, the U.S. defense could be in for a long day.
