Remembering Louis Orr: Jim Boeheim fought off tears while talking about Louis Orr, the former Syracuse basketball great who died Thursday after a battle with pancreatic cancer. “It was hard coaching today,’’ Boeheim said after Saturday’s 78-63 win over Cornell at the JMA Wireless Dome. Orr, 64, was part of Boeheim’s first recruiting class as a head coach, went on to play in the NBA, was the first former Syracuse player to be an assistant under Boeheim, and had his SU jersey retired in the Dome. “He’s the best off the court (guy) that any program has ever had,’’ Boeheim said. “I’ve had a lot of great people and great players, but he’s the best of them all.”
