The UFC brought 13 fights to San Diego and the card delivered a number of highlight-reel finishes and incredible hard-fought battles.
After UFC on ESPN 41 concluded, the promotion handed out two Performance of the Night bonuses and one Fight of the Night award.
Although it wasn’t the only war of attrition on the card, the co-main event of the evening secured the FOTN bonus. Nate Landwehr and David Onama left everything they had inside the cage during their crowd-pleasing, awe-inducing 15-minute war.
Check out which fighters took home an extra $50,000 bonus below.
‘Performance of the Night’: Tyson Nam
Competing for the first time since January 2021, Tyson Nam made a statement in his return to action. As his opponent Ode Osbourne attempted a jumping knee, Nam timed the attack and landed a beautiful counter punch to send his opponent crumbling to the canvas for the first-round knockout. Nam returns to the win column with a highlight reel moment and a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus.
‘Performance of the Night’: Marlon Vera
Competing in his second-straight main event, Marlon Vera faced the toughest test of his career in former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz. The fight was an incredible back-and-forth battle with both men landing crushing shot on each other, but it would be the well-placed head kick from Vera as Cruz ducked to the outside that would spell the end of this key bantamweight matchup. Vera is now on a four-fight win streak that includes three POTN bonuses.
‘Fight of the Night’: Nate Landwehr vs. David Onama
The co-main event of UFC on ESPN 41 delivered beyond all expectations. Nate Landwehr and David Onama had an incredibly high bar to surpass if they wanted to take FOTN from previous battles on the night, but they did exactly that. This back-and-forth fight saw both fighters rocked and dropped throughout, but Landwehr ultimately was declared the victor by majority decision behind a dominant second round that earned a 10-8 score from all three judges. Both fighters take home an extra $50,000 for the FOTN.
