LAS VEGAS – Sean Strickland didn’t hold back any verbal punches in his response to Colby Covington’s recent comments.
The UFC middleweight champion went off on Covington at Friday’s 2024 UFC seasonal press conference ahead of the final pay-per-view of the year – UFC 296, which goes down on Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena.
Covington, who challenges champion Leon Edwards in the main event of UFC 296, said he would “love” to slap Strickland among various other things in multiple interviews.
Strickland is aware of Covington’s criticism and is not happy about it.
“Colby is an utter piece of sh*t,” Strickland said. “If you know Colby on a personal level, he f*cked over everybody he f*cking knows. I take Colby as a personal insult to me because the Trumpsters, the Republicans, you guys are my f*cking people, the blue collar workers. You guys are my f*cking people, and you guys have a c*nt like Colby come in here taking advantage. He don’t give a f*ck about you.
“Him making fun of Leon’s dad, that is the biggest f*cking c*nt move you can do. Leon’s mom, dad – bad guy or good guy, it doesn’t matter. She raised a boy to be a f*cking man, to win a title and be a good man. A real f*king American would applaud him for that, he wouldn’t tear him down. Colby is a fake f*king p*ssy. If he were standing here right now, the only thing he would do is call 911 because he’s the definition of a f*cking b*tch.”
Strickland (28-5 MMA, 15-5 UFC) returns to the octagon in the first pay-per-view of 2024, as he defends his middleweight title against Dricus Du Plessis. The title fight will go down in the main event of UFC 297, which takes place Jan. 20 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
