Tyson Fury promises to knock out ‘bum’ Anthony Joshua ‘inside of three rounds’
Fury #Fury
It didn’t take long for WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury to have a response to Anthony Joshua’s impressive ninth-round knockout of Kubrat Pulev on Saturday.
As you can probably imagine, the words weren’t kind.
“Anthony Joshua just s— himself on live television,” Fury said. “He got asked if he wanted the fight and he went around the bushes.”
Following the knockout, Joshua said that it was his goal to collect all the titles and that if the person in the way was Fury, then “let’s do it.”

But Fury didn’t find that response acceptable and prodded the unified champion.
“I want the fight,” Fury continued. “I want the fight next and I’ll knock him out inside of three rounds. He’s a big bum dosser and I can’t wait to knock him out.”
It appears that both sides are equally interested in the fight and there is an agreement in principle for it to take place in 2021. There are still two hurdles, however. One is Oleksandr Usyk, who is the No. 1 contender to Joshua’s WBO title. Usyk has said on several occasions that he isn’t interested in stepping aside for Joshua-Fury. But Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn is confident that he can figure out how to navigate.
The other is Deontay Wilder, who was contractually obligated to a third fight with Fury after being stopped in February. COVID-19 has pushed back the date on several occasions, however, and Fury’s camp says that Wilder has let that contract expire. Wilder’s team has suggested that the dispute could go to court if Fury doesn’t comply.
Nevertheless, the framework is in place for a massive showdown between British heavyweights and both sides appear ready for this head-on collision.
