Already without James Harden (a right foot tendon sprain that will sideline him for months), the Philadelphia 76ers could lose their other playmaking guard for a stretch of games.

Tyrese Maxey had to leave Friday night’s game against the Bucks when, with under two minutes to go in the half, he stepped on the foot of Jevon Carter on a drive and injured his own foot. Maxey did not return.

While the X-rays were negative, he will undergo an MRI on Saturday to determine the extent of the injury, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Doc Rivers says that Tyrese Maxey is currently in a boot and waiting on an MRI tomorrow on his left foot. Rivers says that Maxey says “he’s fine”, but Rivers cautions that he’s not sure he’ll be fine right away.

Maxey is averaging 22.8 points a game and shooting 40.8% from 3 this season. More concerning for the 76ers, they had a -7.4 net rating this season coming into this game when both Maxey and Harden were off the floor. However, that was not the case on Friday night as the 76ers were down seven at the half but came back on the Bucks to pick up the 110-102 win behind 32 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists from Joel Embiid.
