The Philadelphia 76ers are currently continuing their road trip on Friday with a rematch with the Toronto Raptors and they needed somebody to step up in the absence of Joel Embiid in order to get back on track.
That somebody is Tyrese Maxey who is currently putting on an absolute clinic in Canada. The third-year guard out of Kentucky has 27 points on a perfect 10-for-10 shooting and he’s made all seven of his triples as Philadelphia has a 65-48 lead over the Raptors.
In the process, Maxey has joined Kyrie Irving and Hall of Famer Yao Ming for the most points in a half without a miss during the play-by-play era in NBA history. He also joins Embiid and Allen Iverson as the only Sixers to score 27 in a half during that span.
Tyrese Maxey has tied Kyrie Irving (2020) and Yao Ming (2008) for the most points in a half on 100% shooting by a player in the play-by-play era (since 1996-97).

The Sixers still have a lot of work to do to put this one away and move forward, but if Maxey is going to continue to shoot this well, then Philadelphia will be in terrific shape.
