Tyrese Gibson is not ready to end his marriage.
Not long after the 42-year-old musician and actor released a joint statement with his wife, Samantha Gibson, announcing their decision to split after nearly four years of marriage, Tyrese is making it known that he’s not ready for their relationship to end.
Tyrese made the revelation on Saturday, writing in the comments section of an Instagram post shared by Tammy Franklin, which celebrated her anniversary with her husband, Kirk Franklin.
There, Tyrese called out his estranged wife by name, writing that they looked to the Franklins as “marriage goals,” and that he would try to “get her back.”
“Happy Happy Happy Anniversary!!!!!! Magic Magic and more magic…..,” Tyrese wrote in his comment, before directing it towards his ex. “Dear Samantha this was supposed to be us…. remember the franklins was our marriage GOALS!!!!!!!!!!!! Smiling smiling……. I’m gonna get her back watch me! [ I think ].”

The message from the Fast & Furious star comes about after he shared news of the couple’s split in an Instagram post in December.
“We have decided to make a statement of a painful and significant development in our lives,” the statement, shared to Tyrese’s Instagram account, began. “After much thought, consideration, and prayer, We unfortunately have made the difficult decision to officially separate & divorce.”

Continuing their joint separation statement, the pair wrote, “Our intention is to remain the best of friends & strong coparents. We feel incredibly blessed to have found each other and deeply grateful for the 4 years we have been married to each other.”
“Our journey together has been a ride of both ups & downs, but it’s a journey that neither of us would have chosen to take with anyone else,” the pair added. “We truly have so much love & respect for each other.”

Following the pair’s joint statement, Tyrese later posted a video on Instagram with a song crafted by the multi-talented star, dedicated to Samantha. The video features a compilation of photos and videos from their time together.
“Pain got me back in the holy grail… [ the studio ] No there’s no album coming this was inspired by the love of my life Samantha….” Tyrese wrote alongside the social media post. “Thank you for the years I hope you know that I did the very best I could… I truly did… #BetterDays.”
The pair even appeared to be on good terms last month when Samantha sent Tyrese birthday wishes alongside a video of him with the pair’s daughter, Soraya.
“Happy Birthdayyyy @tyrese ! Thank you for going half on this angel with me, she is HANDS DOWN the best gift I’ve ever been given,” Samantha began the caption of her post. “You saw a mother in me when I truly didn’t see it for myself- a true visionary.”
“It’s been a hell of a year, but you’ve still managed to accomplish so much professionally despite all of it! I admire your ability to create even during a whole pandemic! Soraya adores her Daddy Twin with her whole heart & we are hoping, praying, and wishing you the happiest of birthdays,” she added. “Sending you positive vibes on this day.
