Has Aldo ever said why he stopped low kicking so much???

— Funky (@Benaskren) August 21, 2022

Conor McGregor

Those Georgians are really under rated tho and largely unknown. But many incredible wrestler grapplers hail from here. Certainly straight wrestlers. This guy Mirab is a great little fighter!

Teddy Atlas

While Dvalishvili is throwing more, the experienced Aldo placing shots. #UFC278

Mike Bohn

It’s absurd that Jose Aldo’s takedown defense is still this good in 2022. Even if it has regressed some from his prime, it’s still miles ahead of most. #UFC278

— Mike Bohn (@MikeBohn) August 21, 2022

Ben Askren

Aldo needs to get moving, spending too much time on the cage

— Funky (@Benaskren) August 21, 2022

Nolan King

Jose Aldo is stopping Merab’s takedowns with ease. Six attempts thus far. Zero have been successful. #UFC278

Stephen Thompson

2-0 Merab…Aldo still throwing heat! #UFC278

— Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson (@WonderboyMMA) August 21, 2022

Ben Askren

Aldo has to pick up the volume and keep his back off the cage otherwise Merab wins decision.

— Funky (@Benaskren) August 21, 2022

John Pollock

Big story of the fight is Merab’s inability to take Aldo down – Merab averages over seven per fifteen minutes, has not secured one yet

— John Pollock (@iamjohnpollock) August 21, 2022

Casey O’Neill

What do we think should be scored higher. Take down defense or take down attempt ? #ufc278

— Casey Oneill (@kingcaseymma) August 21, 2022

Erik Koch

If someone’s game plan is to take you down and you defend every takedown attempt you win. If aldo loses this because this dude doesn’t want to stand he should lose.

— Erik Jon Koch (@NEWBREED04) August 21, 2022

Teddy Atlas

Volume, strength and aggression of Dvalishvili vs. timing and accuracy of Aldo. #UFC278

Bloody Elbow

Dvalishvili’s corner yelling that Aldo’s tired. #UFC278 Rogan and DC concur.

— Bloody Elbow (@BloodyElbow) August 21, 2022

Andreas Hale

Jose Aldo can be so frustrating to watch sometimes. Clearly, the skills and ability are there but he abandons his best weapon (leg kicks) for no real reason whatsoever. #UFC278

— Andreas Hale (@AndreasHale) August 21, 2022

Stephen Thompson

Looks like Aldo looking for that 1 shot…I feel like he needs to pursue the finish at this point #UFC278

— Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson (@WonderboyMMA) August 21, 2022

Eric Nicksick

I wonder if Aldo thinks he’s up 2 rounds, cause he’s certainly taking this round off 🤷🏼‍♂️ #UFC278

— Eric Nicksick (@Eric_XCMMA) August 21, 2022

Brian Campbell

Jose Aldo is going to kick himself for not being active enough. #UFC278

— Brian Campbell (@BCampbell) August 21, 2022

— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) August 21, 2022

Teddy Atlas

Aldo couldn’t land something to slow Dvalishvili down, too strong and relentless. #UFC278

— Teddy Atlas (@TeddyAtlasReal) August 21, 2022

Brendan Fitzgerald

That’s a good result for @chitoveraUFC, who is in attendance. It’s a horse race among the top bantamweights to make a statement over the next couple months and Chito is in the lead right now. #ufc278

— Brendan Fitzgerald (@BrendanFitzTV) August 21, 2022

Dan Tom

Aldo play is a miss, as the legend seems super disappointed. Wonder if he thought he was up due to what his coach said in the corner?

Either way, props to the machine, Merab and his team. #UFC278
