Twitter Blue is the site’s new paid subscription. Here’s what you get and how much it costs.

Depending on your feelings about social media, Twitter may be the last thing in the world that you would want to pay for, but today the service unveiled a long-awaited paid subscription option with a few bonus features. It’s called Twitter Blue, and as of now, it’s only available in Canada and Australia, with a price tag of $3.49 CAD or $4.49 AUD (which is more or less $3 USD).

The first feature is a bookmark folder option to help organize content to refer to later. If you’re someone who uses the service for business networking or promotional purposes, this could be a helpful addition, but for the average user it seems like an afterthought.

Perhaps the most demanded feature among Twitter users is an edit button, and although Twitter Blue touches on this somewhat, it still stops short of a true edit function. Instead, they’ve added an undo feature which gives you 30 seconds to revise a tweet before it goes live.

Another new addition is Reader Mode, which “provides a more beautiful reading experience by getting rid of the noise.” This seems primarily like a way to make consuming long threads easier.

Additionally, there will be customizable icons, new color themes and dedicated subscriber customer support. Read the full list of features from Twitter here.
