Tucker Carlson doesn’t shy away from too many things, but there are two subjects he won’t report on: the 2020 election controversy and UFOs.

The conservative commentator says that the classified UFO information he has already been briefed on would have far-reaching consequences across the planet if it was ever released.

NEW: Tucker Carlson says ‘Aliens’ are one of the few topics he is scared to cover, says the things he has learned are so dark that he can’t even tell his wife.

“There’s a spiritual component there that I don’t fully understand.”

“The more you dig into that and talk to people with actual knowledge. Again, this is another story where there are some fanciful ideas floating around but there just isn’t any evidence that they’re true. But if you talk to people who have actual knowledge of it that they gathered themselves, there are parts of that story that I do not understand at all that are really, really, really dark … That story bothers me,” Carlson said during a recent appearance on the Redacted podcast with hosts Clayton and Natali Morris.

Carlson’s comments come after retired Maj. David Grusch alleged in front of Congress earlier this summer that the U.S. is concealing a longstanding program that retrieves and reverse engineers unidentified flying objects.

“I was informed in the course of my official duties of a multi-decade UAP crash retrieval and reverse engineering program to which I was denied access,” he said [per the Associated Press].

Asked whether the U.S. government had information about extraterrestrial life, Grusch said the U.S. likely has been aware of “non-human” activity since the 1930s.

The Pentagon fired back at Grusch’s claims of a coverup. In a statement, Defense Department spokeswoman Sue Gough said investigators have not discovered “any verifiable information to substantiate claims that any programs regarding the possession or reverse-engineering of extraterrestrial materials have existed in the past or exist currently.”

But in his appearance on Redacted, Carlson hinted that the information that he’s been privy too is “so dark,” he hasn’t shared it with his wife.

“I haven’t verified any of this, but this is not just stuff I read on the Internet,” the pundit said. “But there is some stuff there, like, man, I’m not even sure I know what that means. There’s a spiritual component there that I don’t fully understand. So yes, that story bothers me.”

In an interview with Joe Rogan last month, Grusch alleged that the U.S. government hasn’t been able to fully grasp some the entities that have been recovered. “You’re looking at it and it’s like, I don’t even understand the physiology at all. It’s like what the heck, it’s like way different,” explained Grusch [per The U.S. Sun]. “We have some idea not a complete picture.”

But despite a number of whistleblowers coming out and trying to share news about alien life, Carlson went on to say that the reason the story hasn’t made front-page news is partially because the government doesn’t want people to know about it.

“The public can’t deal with it. It’s too far out. The implications are too profound. I understand that,” Carlson said. “I’ve heard things where I’m like, ‘Oh man, I don’t even really want to know that, honestly.’”

The truth that is out there — somewhere — is “deeply disturbing” and can’t ever be released because it will “scare people,” Carlson continued.

“I feel comfortable saying this as a fact … These are real, whatever they are, and they’re not human, and the government has known that for a long time — possibly going back to the 1930s at least. And of course, there is tons of evidence in the written record, in the physical record, in paintings and in literature, that people have been seeing and interacting with these things for a long time, so we know that.”

But the notion that UFOs, UAPs (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) and alien life is too much for people to handle is something Carlson genuinely believes is true.

“The justification one often hears is, the government and various presidents who have been read in, they have not all been, haven’t wanted to disclose this because it would scare people. I always thought that’s bulls***, you’re hiding a crime, which they are by the way, in my opinion,” Carlson said.

“But I do think there’s a sense in which that’s not totally crazy. There is some stuff, if it is true, and I’m kind of thinking it may be true, that is so radical that yeah, we don’t want to tell the people we love most about it. Because why would you want to disturb someone like that? So I kind of get that. I hate to admit it. I’m not arguing for hiding things, but I understand the impulse. Like, holy smokes, this is heavy.”

Carlson acknowledged there was a time when he never would have believed any of it, he said with a laugh. “But now, I’m like, ‘Yeah, OK.’”
