Patrick Mahomes reminded everybody yet again Monday night that he’s just different than everyone else and that the Chiefs’ offense is pretty much unstoppable whenever it feels like being unstoppable.

Kansas City went into Baltimore and put 27 points on the board in the first half against a Baltimore defense that was the best in the NFL going into the matchup.

Then when things got a little too close in the fourth quarter, Mahomes and the Chiefs got serious again and went on a 13-play, 75-yard drives that ended with Mahomes throwing a 2-yard TD pass to offensive tackle Eric Fisher, because of course.

Mahomes finished the night with 385 yards passing and four TD passes in the 34-20 win. But his performance was more than that. It was a message to the rest of the league watching at home that he’s only getting better and that he he can do pretty much whatever he wants when he wants to do it and that everyone else is in trouble.

Trying to come up with a plan to slow down Mahomes has to be the worst job in the NFL, one that leaves defensive coordinators without sleep during the week and then without hope once the game gets underway.

Mahomes, who has never lost in the month of September, did it all again in this big win over the Ravens. His first-half performance had NFL fans in awe as he threw three totally different looking TD passes and appeared as if he could do anything he wanted against such a good defense.

Then on that game-sealing drive in the fourth quarter he was able to pick up a huge first down with a nice 12-yard run that he ended with a fun little skip out of bounds, as if he was saying, “all of this is so easy for me.”

Mahomes completed a pass to eight different receivers against the Ravens. He scrambled around the pocket while jumping out of the way of defenders in one step and throwing a first down across his body on the next step. And even when he got hit he still completed pass.

This game is really easy for Mahomes right now and it looks like that’s going to be true for quite some time.

Fun for us. Not so fun for those paid to stop him.

But yeah, definitely fun for us.
