As the United States pandemic death toll surpassed 210,000 on Monday night, Donald Trump returned to the White House following his own diagnosis and said Americans should not let the coronavirus “dominate” them. 

The president, whose short speech was soon condemned, also attracted criticism over an appearance on a White House balcony that former communications director Anthony Scaramucci  compared to an “American Mussolini”.
