Trump flaunts his mug shot in return to X, formerly Twitter: ‘Never surrender!’

Never Surrender #NeverSurrender

Former President Donald Trump circulated his own mug shot on Thursday night in his first post to X, formerly known as Twitter, since two days after the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riot.

Along with the booking photo, taken hours earlier at an Atlanta jail, Trump, 77, included a link to his 2024 presidential campaign website.

Below the mug shot, read “Election interference,” and “Never surrender!”

Despite the slogan, Trump did in fact surrender to authorities at the Fulton County Jail, where he was booked on charges related to his attempts to reverse the 2020 election results in Georgia.

He made history by becoming the first US president to have his mug shot taken.

“Today, at the notoriously violent jail in Fulton County, Georgia, I was ARRESTED despite having committed NO CRIME,” Trump wrote on the campaign web page’s home screen.

“The American people know what’s going on. What has taken place is a travesty of justice and ELECTION INTERFERENCE. The Left wants to intimidate YOU out of voting for a political outsider who puts the American people FIRST.

“But today, I walked into the lion’s den with one simple message on behalf of our entire movement: I WILL NEVER SURRENDER OUR MISSION TO SAVE AMERICA.”

The tweet was the first time since Trump posted to the social network since January 8, 2021 — when he told his followers he would not be attending Joe Biden’s inauguration.

He was then banned from the platform, but reinstated on Nov. 19 — though his account remained inert until Thursday.

Trump turned himself in following his grand jury indictment Aug. 14 on charges including racketeering, conspiracy, false statements and asking a public official to violate their oath of office.

The 41-count indictment also charged 18 other Trump allies and supporters, including attorneys Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman, Sidney Powell, Jenna Ellis and Kenneth Chesebro — all of whom surrendered this week for booking.

Trump was released on a $200,000 bond and agreed to an order limiting his ability to post on social media about witnesses or co-defendants in the case.

The Georgia indictment is the fourth brought against the 45th president so far this year, following federal cases over his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election in Washington, DC, and his alleged mishandling of classified documents in South Florida.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg also indicted Trump for allegedly falsifying business records to conceal “hush money” payments to porn star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election in order to silence her about an alleged decade-old affair.

Trump has routinely mocked the mounting cases against him, calling each charge earlier this month “truly great badge of honor.”

He has repeatedly accused “crooked Joe Biden” and other Democrats of weaponizing their legal powers to thwart Trump’s chances at winning the presidency.

Despite his indictments and criminal charges, Trump continues to dominate the GOP polls.
