Trick-or-treat saved by trooper for Michigan State Police
Trick or Treat #TrickorTreat
A trooper for the Michigan State Police is being celebrated for a good deed this Halloween season. He ensured one central Michigan family would not go without costumes for trick-or-treating.
Five days before the holiday, Trooper Martin for the MSP First District was dispatched to a home where the complainant, a single mother of three, told him that her Federal Express packages with her children’s Halloween costumes were delivered to her neighbor’s house by mistake, according to MSP on Monday in a Tweet.
The mother was able to provide Trooper Martin with delivery photos to prove that her packages were delivered to the incorrect address, according to MSP. She also told him this happens frequently and her old neighbor used to bring her packages back whenever this mistake occurred.
But since she had gotten new neighbors at the address, sometimes the packages delivered there by mistake “come up missing,” according to MSP.
She told Martin she did not want to press charges in the matter and that she only wanted her packages back because she could not afford to buy replacements nor did she have the time to go shop for them before Halloween night, according to MSP.
Martin reportedly took it upon himself to meet the mother and her kids at a store where he purchased Halloween costumes and accessories for the kids so they could enjoy the festivities.

When the neighbor was contacted about the incident, they denied having the mother’s packages. And were otherwise uncooperative, according to MSP.
“Way to go Trooper Martin! #PathForward,” MSP wrote on Twitter Monday.
