The Gunners have now swooped for Kiwior, who is left footed and will provide direct competition for Gabriel Magalhaes.

Graham Potter is ready to give Mykhailo Mudryk his Chelsea debut away to Liverpool this weekend, but has warned Chelsea plans to be patient with the £88.5million winger.

Mudryk arrived on an eight-and-a-half-year deal last weekend, but hasn’t played a competitive match for 59 days due to the break for the World Cup.

The Chelsea boss said: “He hasn’t played so much football recently but has been training well. There’s a chance [he could make his debut against Liverpool].

“We’ve got to help everybody understand that he is coming from a different league and has to adapt. He is a young player that has a lot of potential but has had good experiences already. He is an exciting player.

“He’s very happy to be here. He is looking forward to his career here and looking forward to getting started.”

With Hugo Lloris’s form clearly in decline following a series of high-profile errors, including costly ones against Arsenal and Manchester City in the last few days alone, Tottenham are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper.

Chelsea are in the market, too, with one of Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga likely to be sold, while United are also thinking about the future beyond David de Gea, after loaning likely successor Dean Henderson to Nottingham Forest last summer.

Jurgen Klopp has insisted Liverpool will need rush into the transfer market in response to the spending of other clubs.

Chelsea continue to be incredibly active this month, while Arsenal appear to be nearing two more signings after the arrival of Leandro Trossard.

Liverpool have added Cody Gakpo to their ranks, but Klopp believes the focus should also be on improving those already at the club.

“You don’t need to build a new team every year, you have to allow players to develop and we have a few of those players,” Klopp told reporters.

“It’s not worrying that other teams are spending, it’s a matter of fact. We have to react to that as well but not just to that.”

West Ham have completed the signing of Aston Villa forward Danny Ings in a deal worth an initial £12million.

The paperwork was completed in time for Saturday’s crunch meeting with Everton.

The two sides are level on points in the relegation zone going into the crucial meeting, with both Moyes and Frank Lampard under huge pressure over their futures.

    Or not… 12:32 , Matt Verri

    Things are moving very quickly!

Arsenal are believed to be close to agreeing a deal for Ivan Fresneda, with Mikel Arteta convincing the player to join the Gunners.

Reports in Spain suggest Fresneda and his representatives have become fed up with Real Madrid’s uncertainty over making a move, and Arsenal have acted quickly to seal a deal.

It’s claimed Fresneda will fly to London in the coming days, though could stay in Spain for the rest of the season on loan.

“It’s mix of emotions, we lose a good player because of his departure,” Van Nistelrooy said.

“There was no turning back and there was a solid financial compensation. I can empathise with the interest of the club.”

Arsenal want to sign Ivan Fresneda as soon as possible, according to the latest reports.

The teenage Real Valladolid defender has been earmarked as a potential star of the future and has plenty of clubs queuing up for his services already aged just 18.

Per Italian outlet TuttoJuve, Arsenal could offer €20m to beat Juventus and Borussia Dortmund to the signing of Fresneda.

That would surpass Valladolid’s record fee received for a transfer, when they sold Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu to Southampton for £10.9m in the summer of 2020.

On Moises Caicedo, Roberto De Zerbi reiterated Brighton’s desire to keep him until the summer – but appeared to concede that is not certain.

Chelsea are pushing hard for the Ecuador international, who has also been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool.

“Moises is very important for us,” De Zerbi said.

“It is difficult to change with another player now at this stage. I hope he finishes the season with us, but it’s always difficult to be certain. When big teams want our players, it’s good news for the club.

“The best solution is that he finishes the season with us and for him, in the summer, it’s better then if he changes teams. I don’t know if he will continue to play like this – the last games – it is possible he can leave for another team [in the summer].”

(Getty Images) © Provided by Evening Standard (Getty Images) De Zerbi issues update on Arsenal-bound Trossard 09:30 , George Flood

Roberto De Zerbi has discussed both Leandro Trossard and Moises Caicedo this morning during a press conference held in advance of Brighton’s Premier League trip to Leicester tomorrow.

“The situation was difficult I think, because I understood he wanted to leave,” the Italian said of Arsenal-bound Trossard.

“I’m sorry for the last period because I prefer when people are clear not when there is some different behaviours. I think anyway we are a good team and we can play well with Leo or without Leo.

“In the transfer market, you can always improve. You can always buy new players but we are at a good level now and the players are very good players. It’s not so easy to improve this squad. But if there is the possibility with Tony (Bloom) and the club, we will do something.”

Graham Potter still wants to add a midfielder to his squad this month but Brighton do not want to sell Ecuador international Caicedo and Chelsea have been forced to consider other options.

Chelsea had a bid for Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez rejected earlier this month and they have been linked with a shock move for Tottenham’s Yves Bissouma, though Spurs are expected to reject any move for a player who worked with Potter at Brighton.

Liverpool are far from giving up hope over Jude Bellingham.

England’s breakout star has long been thought of as Jurgen Klopp’s top transfer target as he plans an overdue overhaul of his ageing midfield.

However, Liverpool face fierce competition for Bellingham from multiple fellow heavyweight suitors including the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.

Reports have suggested that the Borussia Dortmund star has indicated that he would prefer the Bernabeu over Anfield, though Sky Sport in Germany now claim that Liverpool are still optimistic over pulling off a blockbuster summer deal.

Florian Plettenberg says that while there is no official offer and Klopp has yet to speak to Bellingham, the Reds want to offer him the chance to become the next Steven Gerrard.

Tottenham appear to have been boosted in their pursuit of Nicolo Zaniolo.

Arsenal have also been linked with the Italy winger, who has had an unhappy time of it with Roma of late and could be about to swap Serie A for the Premier League.

Reports from Sky in Italy yesterday indicated that Spurs had jumped ahead of their north London rivals by tabling a loan offer for Zaniolo that included an option for a permanent summer transfer, though that opening bid was rebuffed.

Fabrizio Romano now reports that Roma are willing to sell the 23-year-old outright this month after new contract talks completely broke down, with a €40m fee sought for a straight transfer and not a loan.

Moussa Diaby is another name apparently still firmly in the forefront of transfer thinking at Arsenal this month.

Anthony is out of contract at the Vitality Stadium at the end of the season and has yet to agree an extension, with Arsenal now eyeing a return to north London according to the Daily Mail.

But they could face competition from Leicester as well as Bundesliga sides Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen, who may need replacements for Chelsea target Marcus Thuram and loanee Callum Hudson-Odoi respectively.

However, The Telegraph now report that Chelsea lodged an enquiry with their fierce London rivals over Bissouma as they seek reinforcements in the middle of the park.

However, Tottenham are said to have offered no encouragement over a deal that could have seen Moroccan winger Hakim Ziyech move in the opposite direction.

One player who won’t be joining Chelsea just yet, however, is Moises Caicedo.

As well as losing Leandro Trossard to Arsenal after his public falling out with manager Roberto De Zerbi, the high-flying Seagulls are also contending with major interest in their midfield star.

Chelsea are known to heavily covet Caicedo as an alternative to Argentina’s World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez, having been unable to strike a deal with Benfica earlier this month.

According to The Athletic, the Blues have now seen an offer worth £55m for the Ecuador international snubbed by Brighton, whom it is said are holding out for a fee north of £75m.

An official announcement is slated to follow, with Trossard putting pen to paper on a contract until 2026 that includes the option for a further year.

Tottenham believe there is room for negotiation with Porro himself keen on the move.

Chelsea are in pole position to sign Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo should he leave the club in January

Sky Sports report that the Seagulls do not want to sell Caicedo this month, but the Blues remain hopeful of striking a deal. It would likely require a fee in the region of £75m.

It’s claimed Liverpool and another unnamed Premier League side are also still in the hunt.
