The summer window is just a week old and Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are all busy strengthening their squads. The Gunners are on the verge of completing the £65m signing of Kai Havertz, and are preparing a third bid for Declan Rice. Ajax defender Jurrien Timber is also a target, along with Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia.

Long-term Gunners target Moises Caicedo is keen on a move to Chelsea, with Brighton holding out for at least £80m. The Blues have confirmed the signing of Christopher Nkunku and will soon add Nicolas Jackson as another forward signing. Mauricio Pochettino also needs to trim his squad, with Hakim Ziyech set to move to Saudi Arabia and Mateo Kovacic joining Manchester City.

Tottenham have been told James Maddison will cost a minimum of £50m, while their pursuit of Brentford goalkeeper David Raya is at risk of breaking down over a fee. Manchester United are set to enter the race to sign Rice, with an offer that could involve Harry Maguire, while they have had a fresh bid for Mason Mount rejected by Chelsea. Chelsea have rejected Manchester United’s latest bid of £50million for Mason Mount, raising fears at Old Trafford that they will miss out on one of their key targets, writes Nizaar Kinsella.

United manager Erik ten Hag has made Mount his top summer transfer target but their latest offer of £45m plus £5m in add-ons has been turned down.

Mount is keen to join United this summer but fears he could be priced out of a move. Chelsea are demanding £70m for the 24-year-old, who has just one year remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues increasingly look willing to risk losing Mount for free next summer. He is reluctant to sign a new contract after a breakdown of his relationship with members of the club’s hierarchy.

Albert Sambi Lokonga is set to leave Arsenal this summer.

With Granit Xhaka also expected to leave and Thomas Partey potentially departing, it’s quite the midfield overhaul at the Emirates!

The Athletic report that United have offered £45m plus £5m in add-ons, but have been told by Chelsea that a bid of £60m and £5m in add-ons would be accepted.

Jorginho is ready to snub interest from Lazio to stay at Arsenal, writes Simon Collings.

Former Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri wants to be reunited with Jorginho but the midfielder is not keen on a return to Serie A.

Arsenal are plotting an overhaul of their midfield this summer, with a third offer for Declan Rice to come. They are also targeting Brighton’s Moises Caicedo and Southampton’s Romeo Lavia, though any further moves depend on player sales.

Arsenal are looking to offload Thomas Partey instead of Jorginho – the Italian has a contract with the Gunners until the end of next season and the club have an option for a further year.
