Tracking Ophelia: Rain and heavy winds persistent in parts of New Jersey

Tropical Storm Ophelia’s continue to bring rain and heavy winds to New Jersey Saturday night.
In Manasquan, the Manasquan River was calmer compared to how it was during the morning hours, although rain and heavy wind was still prevalent.
Over in nearby Brille, an entire neighborhood was without power for nearly seven hours after several large tree branches fell and hit powerlines Saturday morning.
It happened near a house on Union Lane. Homeowner Drew Eitner told News 12 New Jersey he witnessed the moment the electrical power went out.
“I saw one tree branch hit the ground, and then another one, and then I saw sparks coming out from the ground and the wires up top,” he recalled.
News 12 New Jersey was told Eitner’s house is also the oldest house in Brielle. He said he’s glad it was not damaged.
A News 12 New Jersey crew also observed several streets with some flooding.
A tree that fell onto a house in Manalapan sent one person to the hospital.
Near the Point Pleasant inlet, Baltimore Avenue was blocked off to traffic around 4 p.m.
A heavy police presence also returned to the area where teams have been searching for a missing boater who capsized last Thursday. News 12 New jersey was still waiting on confirmation from authorities about a recovery made as of Saturday night.
