Tottenham’s Harry Kane Breaks EPL Record After Superb Strike From Free-Kick Routine Against Brentford
Brentford #Brentford
Harry Kane has become the first player in Premier League history to score in 25 different games during a single season.
The Tottenham striker broke the record – previously shared with Liverpool’s Mo Salah, who scored in 24 games in the 2017/18 campaign – eight minutes into Saturday’s home match against Brentford.
Kane’s historic strike came from a slick free-kick routine.
Dejan Kulusevski pretended he was going to shoot before instead rolling the ball into Kane’s path.
Bournemouth’s Kevin Schade sprinted out of the defensive wall in an attempt to block Kane’s shot but he was unable to prevent the 29-year-old from curling a fine strike into the top corner from 27 yards.
Despite being one of the best long-range shooters in world soccer, Kane actually has a very poor record at scoring direct from free-kicks.
Saturday’s goal will not improve that record either, as it was technically Kulusevski who took the free-kick.
