Tottenham Hotspur are back in action this evening as they travel to take on Stoke City in the Carabao Cup.

Spurs were beaten 2-0 by Leicester City on Sunday, meaning they have lost their last two games – and need a response against the Potters tonight.

This also gives Spurs the chance to advance into the semi-finals of the competition, with Jose Mourinho desperate to claim some silverware at Tottenham.

He may be tempted to make some changes for tonight’s trip to the Potteries, and he has at least been boosted by one player’s return to training.

Erik Lamela has barely been seen this season, which isn’t exactly ideal for him given that he is playing for a new contract with the club.

The Argentinian’s injury problems have appeared once again, meaning he hasn’t played at all since the 2-1 win over Brighton on November 1st.

Lamela has only managed four starts in all competitions, but he is now gearing up for a return to action ahead of the busy festive period.

Lamela has taken to Instagram to claim he is ‘finally’ back, posting a photo of himself in training whilst stating ‘let’s go’ – even if today’s game will likely come too early for him.
