Tottenham team confirmed vs Leeds: Ndombele remains on the bench as Lo Celso and Alli start

Ryan Mason has named the same Tottenham team from last week’s win over Sheffield United for this afternoon’s Premier League game away at Leeds United.

Coming into the fixture on the back of two successive league wins, Spurs will be in confident mood as they look to up the pressure on Chelsea in fourth.

A win in West Yorkshire will whittle the Blues’ current lead down to two points, with Thomas Tuchel’s men in action later today at Man City, who will be crowned champions if they pick up all three points.

With Mason confirming in his pre-match press conference that Tanguy Ndombele hadn’t trained due to injury in the lead up to the win over the Blades, the Frenchman remains on the bench once again for the match against Leeds.

That means Giovani Lo Celso keeps his place in midfield, with Dele Alli again getting the nod over Lucas Moura to start in the No.10 role.

Tottenham’s bench also remains the same as the likes of Joe Rodon and Japhet Tanganga miss out on the squad completely.

Leeds have made quite the impression since their return to the top flight for the first time since 2004 and have so far drawn all five of their home games against the Premier League’s big six.

Not recording a win since their brilliant 2-1 victory away at Man City last month, Mason is fully aware of the threat Marcelo Bielsa’s men pose.

“They have a very unique way of playing and I’m sure it’s exciting for the neutral and for their supporters but we have to focus on ourselves,” said the interim head coach.

“Yes they will pose certain problems and certain situations that will be different to other teams but we can’t worry too much about them.

“We’re ready, we have an idea of how they are going to play and the problems they might cause but we’ll also cause them problems and it’s important we focus on that.”

Here is the Tottenham team Mason has selected for this afternoon’s match.

Tottenham XI: Lloris, Aurier, Alderweireld, Dier, Reguilon, Hojbjerg, Lo Celso, Bale, Alli, Son, Kane.

Substitutes: Hart, Sanchez, Doherty, Winks, Sissoko, Ndombele, Lamela, Bergwijn, Lucas
