Tottenham reportedly battling Arsenal that Jermaine Jenas raved about in 2019

Tottenham have reportedly joined Arsenal and other clubs in the race to sign Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma this summer – a player that earned praise from Jermaine Jenas in February 2019, during analysis on BT Sport.
Bissouma, 24, has been in excellent form for Brighton this season – enjoying his best run of form since swapping French side Lille for Brighton in 2018. He has since gone on to clock up 92 appearances in all competitions.
The Daily Star say Arsenal are ‘confident’ of securing a £30million move to sign the Malian despite enquiries from West Ham, Tottenham and Everton this summer. Football London say Bissouma dreams of an Arsenal move.
Speaking after Brighton had beaten Derby County in the FA Cup back in February 2019, Jenas raved about the performance of Bissouma – complimenting the African’s stamina, strength and his ability to drive a team forward.
“He offers something a little bit different in that midfield,” Jenas said. “His strength, his running ability. There were a lot of ball-players playing today, but he was the one that was prepared to drive with the ball, he has the legs for it.”
Arsenal need a player that can become Thomas Partey’s long-term partner and on the face of it, a move to the Gunners makes sense. But with Arsenal’s chances of European qualification in doubt, Spurs might be tempting.
Spurs are better placed to qualify for the Europa League and if Arsenal fail to win the Europa League, do they qualify for Europe from the Premier League? Probably not. So, Spurs could be his best move.
Everton have numerous options while West Ham could also hand Bissouma a move to London – but surely, Spurs or Arsenal are in with a bigger shout given the sheer size of the two North London outfits.
