Tottenham fans excited about Nile John after training clip

Tottenham Hotspur are back in pre-season training under new boss Nuno Espirito Santo – and fans are impressed with Nile John.

Spurs finally have a new manager in place having landed Nuno more than two months after sacking Jose Mourinho.

Nuno has been taking training this week as Tottenham players returned for pre-season preparations, though he has been without some key players.

Harry Kane, Hugo Lloris, Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Giovani Lo Celso have all been away with their countries and won’t be available for Nuno for a little while yet.

That means young and fringe players have an amazing opportunity to make a huge impression on Nuno – and Nile John seemingly took his chance.

The 18-year-old joined Spurs from Brentford in 2016 and has been emerging through the ranks, even making an appearance in the Europe League last season.

John made an impression in training on Wednesday, robbing Erik Lamela of possession before racing clear to score.

Tottenham fans took to Twitter to suggest that John looked ‘class’ and ‘sharp, highlighting him as the player who stood out most from the clip whilst suggesting that he is the ‘next big thing’.
