Toronto Raptors rookie Terence Davis was arrested in New York City Tuesday night for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend at a luxury high-rise building in Midtown Manhattan, police say.
The 23-year-old basketball star and his girlfriend got into a verbal dispute where he allegedly hit her in the face then grabbed her phone and broke it, the New York Police Department shares with DailyMail.com.
The incident took place at 8.30pm in the Beekman Tower Hotel on Mitchell Place, police say. The girlfriend did not seek hospitalization after the incident.
Davis was hit with third degree assault and criminal mischief charges.

The Toronto Raptors tell DailyMail.com they are aware of the Davis arrest reports and are seeking more information.
Davis attended the University of Mississippi and joined the Raptors as a shooting guard prior to the start of the last season.
