Top Dolla has been released by WWE.
Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp is reporting Top Dolla (AJ Francis) has been released by WWE. Francis did not issue a formal statement on the news, but posted the following on Twitter:
This was Top Dolla’s second run with WWE. He spent six years in the NFL before he signed with WWE in 2020. He debuted on the May 4, 2021 episode of NXT alongside Isaiah Scott (Swerve Strickland) before forming the Hit Row stable with Scott, Ashante Adonis and B-Fab.
The trio (after Swerve left WWE) was called up to SmackDown in the 2021 WWE Draft. Surprisingly, the stable was released only two weeks later in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Francis and Hit Row returned to WWE in August 2022. He and Adonis challenged for the Undisputed Tag Team Championship in December 2022.
Francis’ last match was a six-person mixed tag match loss to the LWO at a September 10 live event. His last televised match was a singles loss to LA Knight on August 11.
