West Ham United are currently trying to get a deal for Lucas Paqueta over the line.
On Thursday evening, it looked as though things weren’t heading in the right direction.
But now, Fabrizio Romano has put out a more optimistic update.

Earlier on Thursday, Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth claimed that he had been told the deal was off.
Speaking on Sky Sports’ Transfer Show on Thursday evening, he said: “Now this is just from one source.
“I’ve still got to get this backed up, I’m told by one source that the deal looks like it might be off now.
“I was told that West Ham had made a last and final offer and it has not been accepted by Lyon.
“So as it stands, on one hand I’m told that talks are ongoing between the two clubs over trying to get a deal done.
“But… this has literally just come to me just now, I’ve seen a text and it says ‘deal off’.”
Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano claimed that there was no full agreement between West Ham and Lyon after a new round of talks.
But just after 10pm BST, Romano claimed West Ham had a “new direct call” with Lyon over Paqueta tonight.
He described it as “work in progress” and, while dealing with OL is “never easy”, they are “trying to get it done”.
