Tom Wilson gets engaged to longtime girlfriend Taylor Pischke

Tom Wilson, with one finger already occupied by a Stanley Cup Championship ring, will soon have another piece of bling on his hand: a wedding ring. Wilson’s longtime girlfriend Taylor Pischke announced via Instagram on Monday that the couple got engaged last Friday.

Wilson, 27 and Pischke, 28, have been dating since 2015 when the couple first met at one of Pischke’s volleyball tournaments. Though Wilson has climbed the hockey mountaintop by being a key factor in the Washington Capitals’ 2018 Stanley Cup victory, Pischke might be even more accomplished in her own sport.

She first began playing volleyball at age 14 and since then has won seven national titles in Canada (four in indoor volleyball, three on the sand). Both Pischke’s parents played volleyball, and her father Garth was a two-time Olympian for the Canadian national team.

Tom and Taylor are known among Caps fans for not only being the definition of a power couple, but for the fostering of their Labrador retriever named Halle. The couple adopted Halle from Wolf Trap Animal Rescue shortly before the pandemic hit in 2020. Halle became such a fan favorite in the D.C. area that her likeness, along with Wilson’s, were marketed via bobbleheads.

Congratulations to Tom and Taylor! (There is no word yet as to whether the couple asked Halle for permission before moving forward with their marriage plans.)
