They won’t need a lawsuit this time.
Late rocker Tom Petty’s family said they were happy to hear President-elect Joe Biden and his vice presidential pick Kamala Harris play the late rocker’s “I Won’t Back Down” at their victory speech Saturday night.
“We were all so touched to see Tom included on such an important night in America. Congratulations [Joe Biden] and [Kamala Harris],” they wrote on Petty’s Twitter account.

Petty’s family had previously ordered President Trump to cease using the “American Girl” singer’s jams at his own rallies.
“Tom Petty would never want a song of his used for a campaign of hate,” they wrote in June.
