This could be the result of just two friends catching up and having coffee together, or it could mean that the two actors are plotting on how to bring a fifth “Toy Story” film to fans.

Hanks and Allen provided their voices to the lovable Pixar characters — Woody and Buzz — in four different films. Don Rickles (Mr. Potato Head), Jim Varney (Slinky Dog), Wallace Shawn (Rex,), John Ratzenberger (Hamm), and Annie Potts (Bo Peep), also provided their voices for the franchise.

With Tom Hanks and Tim Allen reconciling, many fans are hoping that another “Toy Story” film is in the works, but no confirmation has come.

In fact, in 2019, “Toy Story 4” producer Jonas Rivera stated that the team behind the film considers “Toy Story 4” to be the last “Toy Story movie”. “This was the final chapter. And as filmmakers, to be honest, we feel satisfied that this is where you can end it,” Rivera said.

“Toy Story 4” co-producer Mark Nielsen, added, “We see Toy Story 3 as the end of Woody’s time with Andy, and we really see this as the completion of Woody’s arc and the story of Buzz and Woody.”

And Tom Hanks himself even came out after “Toy Story 4” was released, admitting he feels his time as the iconic Pixar character is over. Per previous reports:

“When we ended up recording the very last line, I had to come to [the] realization – it was like ‘oh, is that the last line?’ They all said ‘that’s it.’ And we were back in the original studio, Stage B. Doc, who was the mixer [on the original Toy Story] was through the glass. That’s where it all began, and that’s where it was all ending,” Hanks recalled during the Toy Story 4 press conference. “The sessions before that, Tim [Allen] had texted me in that kind of way: ‘Hold on yourself. You’re not going to believe it. Still recovering.’ And so, knowing that we were going to be in this territory… Usually, you have the stand and the mic and they’re all at a table in front of you. I asked if we could turn it around so my back was to them, because I didn’t want to have any self-consciousness for what I knew was going to be the last time… And when it came to pass, I felt as though I was on the other side of a river waving to everybody that I had left back in the old country. It was pretty profound.”

Disney recently produced another film called “Lightyear”, which was a prequel to the “Toy Story” films and told the story of Buzz Lightyear, but the character was voiced by Chris Evans, and not Tim Allen.

In a previous interview, Hanks did not hold back and showed he was not happy with “Lightyear” producers as admitted to wanting to do the sequel with longtime friend and co-star, Allen, but “they didn’t let Tim Allen do it.” He said, “I don’t understand that.” Many believe it has to do with politics as Allen’s views don’t align with most of Hollywood, but that has not been confirmed.

The “Toy Story” franchise is currently streaming on Disney+.
