Tom Cruise rips ‘Mission: Impossible’ crew members for not following COVID-19 distancing rules

Tom Cruise supports following coronavirus restrictions — and cross him at your own risk.

That’s a lesson some “Mission: Impossible 7” crew members in London apparently learned the hard way, as the actor publicly chewed them out for standing too close to each other, in violation of 6-feet social-distancing rules, according to a report by The Sun, which obtained audio of the incident.

“ “I don’t ever want to see it again! Ever! And if you don’t do it, you’re fired, and I see you do it again you’re f—ing gone!” ”

“We are the gold standard,” Cruise was heard screaming, in an emotional tirade. “They’re back there in Hollywood making movies right now because of us. Because they believe in us and what we’re doing. I’m on the phone with every f–king studio at night, insurance companies, producers and they’re looking at us and using us to make their movies. We are creating thousands of jobs, you motherf—ers. I don’t ever want to see it again. Ever!”

Production of the blockbuster movie has already been delayed due to the pandemic, and is currently filming in the U.K. under strict safety restrictions. Filming was briefly halted in October when 12 crew members tested positive for COVID-19 while filming in Italy, according to Variety.

Cruise said, in not so many words, that personal decisions have wide-ranging consequences.

“You can tell it to the people who are losing their f—ing homes because our industry is shut down. It’s not going to put food on their table or pay for their college education. That’s what I sleep with every night — the future of this f—ing industry!”

The “Mission: Impossible” series has racked up more than $1.1 billion in U.S. box-office sales, and nearly $3.6 billion worldwide. Shares of ViacomCBS Inc. VIAC, +1.36%, which owns the movie’s distributor, Paramount Pictures, are down 16% year to date, compared to the S&P 500’s SPX, +1.29% 14% gain.
