Tom Brady made cool NFL history in the ugliest of ways possible, because of course

Tom Brady just made NFL history by beating the Packers in the NFC Championship Game at Lambeau Field, as he became the first QB to ever lead his team to a home game in a Super Bowl thanks to this year’s game being in Tampa .

Was it the most beautiful performance by the GOAT? No, not even close. But anyone who has been 43 years of age knows that trying to do anything athletic might have more downs than ups.

None of how it gone done matters any more, though, as Brady is headed to his tenth Super Bowl where he will be looking to win his seventh ring. Those two numbers are ridiculous, but Brady has grown used to pulling off the ridiculous ever since he took over for an injured Drew Bledsoe way back in 2001.

Sunday’s win over the Packers started off pretty great for Brady. He threw three touchdown passes in just over two quarters and helped the Bucs take what looked like a commanding 28-10 in the opening minutes of the third quarter.

But then things got ugly for Brady. Really ugly. He threw three interceptions over the final quarter and a half and almost threw the game away for a team and a franchise that was more than happy take in the ageless quarterback after his 20 seasons in New England.

His win also means that Aaron Rodgers, who has long been compared to Brady, will fall short yet again of reaching a Super Bowl. It’s his fourth loss in a conference championship game since that his lone Super Bowl win back in 2010, which now seems even longer ago after the way this one ended on Sunday.

But lets get back to Brady. What he has pulled off this year now takes away any remaining arguments that people might have had about him possibly not being the GOAT. At his age, to step in and take this team to the Super Bowl during what has been one of the most challenging seasons ever because of the pandemic cements his status as the best ever. If you say otherwise you’re just being silly.

Next up for Brady is yet another Super Bowl. This time it will be in the Bucs’ home stadium, which I said is a NFL first. There’s no travel for Brady and the Bucs. There’s no cold temperature game. There’s just either Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs or Josh Allen and the Bills looking to take the next shot at the GOAT.

Which is all pretty incredible.
