Well it’s Tuesday and hopefully today will be less windy, because we have a massive fire here in my neck of the woods that is literally blazing out of control and today we also had winds at 31mph (at least) which meant there was no way for air crews to help contain it.

In other words: If you have extra rain you could send our way, we would appreciate it. Because this is not looking good.

In any case, now that you’ve all done a little rain dance or prayer or whatever, we can move on to today’s Wordle. It’s a good one!

Spoiler warning! This is a spoiler warning! A warning about spoilers! Not a spoiler about warnings!

First, the hint: When you must make up for all the bad things you’ve done.

See, I told you it was a good word today! It’s interesting, we just recently had piety as a Wordle answer and now we have atone. You might have to atone for your sins if you didn’t stick to the pious path.

My first guess was pretty good. It was just as good as crane would have been in this situation. In fact, while it normally cuts the possible solutions down from 2,309 to 95, this time it cut them down to just 1. That’s even better than crane which would have brought potential solutions down to just 2—alone being one of them. The only guess as good as plane would have been alone in the first place.

And then I screwed up. Then I guessed alone even though I knew that the ‘L’ wasn’t in play. This was just straight up brain fart territory. But the thing is, I didn’t think of atone until I got the ‘A’ in the right spot. I haven’t made a stupid mistake like this in a long time.

Oh well. I got it on three, which is probably what I would have gotten it on if I’d guessed crane. So much for pro-tier playing, though. No magnificent for me. Just splendid.

Peace and love, dearest Wordlers!
