Tuesday is an odd day of the week. In many ways, it’s totally unremarkable.
People dread Mondays because they signify the end of the weekend and the start of the work week (though obviously that’s not true for many people).
Wednesdays have the luxury of being dead-center of everything, the middle point, cleaving two halves of a seven-day week, or a five-day work week.
Thursdays are almost as lonesome as Tuesdays, but from a perch atop a Thursday afternoon you can see the end of Friday. There’s a hopefulness to a Thursday.
And then it’s Friday and the weekend. Tuesday is almost lost in the shuffle. But it’s a good day for other reasons. Most video games come out on Tuesdays, for instance. It’s a good day to go to the movies or skiing. Nothing is quite as busy. If you want to enjoy a quiet evening tucked away in a dark corner, Tuesday’s the day for it.
In any case, let’s take a look at Tuesday’s Wordle, shall we?
It is my great honor to introduce you to The Spoiler Warning. Now that’s out of the way….

Holy moly guacamole, this was a tough one! Or else I just guessed very, very poorly. My luck was bad from the get-go, with spate only narrowing things down to 378 possible solutions. Broil got me another yellow vowel, but I still had way too many choices left.
I was annoyed with myself when I guessed geode since I knew the ‘E’ didn’t go there. As Wordle Bot suggested, demon would have been a hell of a good guess instead. I would have gotten the ‘N’ in green at least.
My fourth guess, chemo, narrowed down the options to 5, but I was still rolling around with two yellow vowels and I was starting to get nervous. Enjoy only got me 1 single yellow box, leaving me with three yellows, two of which were vowels.
I was pretty worried I’d fail for the first time in weeks (and only my second fail ever) but fortunately I could only think of two words that would possibly work with so many letters eliminated: woken and woven. Honestly, woken just sounded wrong. I think awoken or woke but woken sounds weirdly archaic, so I went with woven and crossed my fingers and knocked on wood and said a little prayer and did a little dance and made the sign of the cross and made the peace sign and, well, you get the picture.
I typed in the letters w-o-v-e-n and hit enter and was met with a field of green, the first green I’d seen since I started this unholy puzzle from the underworld. But hey, I won and that’s all that matters. That and having fun, of course.
Be well this fine Tuesday, young padawans.
