Today’s NBA Player Prop Picks: Ayton Doubles Down on Recent Success

Ayton #Ayton

Deandre Ayton’s been beefing up his board numbers of late, and gets a great matchup tonight against a vulnerable Lakers interior. See why the Suns center could impose on Anthony Davis’ hot streak in our NBA player prop picks for Tuesday.

It’s a lighter night on the NBA schedule with just four games on the board, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty of value to be found in the player prop market and tonight, we highlight a trio of salivating plus-money props.

That includes the best way to bet Ben Simmons’ return to Philadelphia, while Kevin Huerter should keep lighting up the Grizzles. Elsewhere, Deandre Ayton is the type of player who can be a problem for the Lakers despite their recent resurgence.

Here are my best NBA player prop picks for Tuesday, November 22.

Going over-board

You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

Well, Ben Simmons returns to Philadelphia for the first time since his tumultuous exit when the Brooklyn Nets take on the 76ers Tuesday night. He’ll look to show the depleted Sixers what they’re missing in this matchup and the best way for us to do that is by backing Simmons to go Over his rebounding prop.

Simmons has finally started to look like his old self, putting together back-to-back classic Simmons performances, averaging 18.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 6 assists in wins over the Trail Blazers and Grizzlies.

He should be able to keep that up against a Sixers squad missing its top three players, as Joel Embiid, James Harden, and Tyrese Maxey are all out. But Embiid’s absence will be missed the most on the glass.

Embiid is obviously the team’s best rebounder and yet Philly still ranks dead-last in the NBA when it comes to rebounding rate and 20th in opponent rebounds per game. Without him on the floor, they basically have no one to clean up the glass with any regularity.

Simmons is set up to have a solid all-around performance in this game but you can get the Over on 7.5 rebounds at +140. Sign me up with the villain.

Ben Simmons Prop:  Over 7.5 rebounds (+140)

Huerts to love you

The Sacramento Kings take their high-octane offense to Memphis to take on the Grizzlies in hopes of winning their seventh game in a row.

The Kings have rattled off six consecutive victories thanks to an attack that leads the NBA in O-rating and scoring. A big part of that has been the addition of shooting guard Kevin Huerter. The Kings guard adds a true shooter to support De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis.

Huerter is averaging 16.6 points while shooting a crazy good 49.5% from 3-point range, and he should have a chance to keep his hot shooting against the Grizzlies.

Memphis hasn’t been the strong defensive team we’ve been used to. The Grizzlies rank 22nd in defensive rating this season and are really struggling to defend the perimeter, where Huerter does his best work. Memphis ranks 23rd in opponent 3-point attempts and 24th in opponent 3-point percentage.

Huerter has drained four threes four times in his last five games, so I’m taking him on his alternate made threes prop to hit four once more in this matchup against the Grizzlies at a very nice value.

Kevin Hurter Prop: Over 3.5 made threes (+190)

Center of attention

Don’t look now, but the Los Angeles Lakers have won three games in a row, due mostly to the fact Anthony Davis has been balling out. Furthermore, that and a run of games that has seen them take on the Nets, Pistons, and Spurs. Things get a little tougher when they travel to the desert to take on the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night.

Davis himself will get a tough matchup in Suns center Deandre Ayton. The Suns’ big man is having a solid start to the season, averaging 14.6 points and 8.1 rebounds and he has a great chance to have a big impact in this matchup.

Outside of Davis, the Lakers don’t handle opposing big too well. Los Angeles ranks 21st in the NBA in opponent paint points, 21st in rebounding rate, and 27th in opponent rebounds per game. To me, that screams Ayton double-double.

Ayton has put up a double-double in three of his last four games, averaging 15 points and 10 rebounds over that stretch. He also had his way with the Lakers last season, recording a double-double in three of the four games he played against Los Angeles, going for 18 points and 13.8 boards in those contests.

On top of that, he should be on the floor plenty because of the matchup with AD. Mixing in some decent plus money and backing Ayton to get another double-double looks like another solid play.

Deandre Ayton Prop: record a double-double (+135)
