TNC Predator punches ticket to WePlay AniMajor in Ukraine

TNC Predator clinched its spot in the WePlay AniMajor in Kiev, Ukraine after securing a top-two finish in the second season of the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Southeast Asia (SEA) Upper Division.

The all-Filipino crew achieved the feat after beating regional rival Fnatic in its final round-robin match in the second season of the DPC SEA, 2-1, on Wednesday, May 19.

Fnatic got on board first in the best-of-three duel only to witness TNC Predator nail the series by winning the last two games in 47 and 35 minutes, respectively.

TNC Predator – composed of Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte, Armel “Armel” Tabios, Jun “Bok” Kanehara, Timothy “Tims” Randrup, and Marvin “Boomy” Rushton – is currently tied with T1 for the top spot with identical 5-2 cards.

Already assured of a group stage berth in the WePlay AniMajor, TNC Predator can still clinch a playoff seat in the second major of the DPC season it if beats T1 in their tiebreaker on Saturday, May 22.

If it wins the tiebreaker, TNC Predator will also take home the top prize of $50,000 and earn 500 DPC points, which will serve as a major boost in its bid for a spot in The International, the world championship of Dota.

The WePlay AniMajor – which has a prize pool of $500,000 and a point pool of 2,700 – will run from June 2 to 13. – Rappler.com
