Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry has regularly logged heavy workloads during his career, and the Titans are leaning on their superstar back as much as ever with the passing game struggling.

Henry is one of the true workhorse backs left in the NFL, but there has been a lot of talk about how long he can sustain such a heavy workload on a weekly basis.

When asked about that recently by ESPN’s Ed Werder, Vrabel praised his best player, while also giving a brutally honest take on the state of Tennessee’s passing game.

“We’ve been able to use [Henry] and he’s helped us win a lot of games since I’ve been here,” Vrabel said. “I don’t what else we would do — throw it 50 times? I mean, who the [expletive] would we throw it to?’’

Asked Mike Vrabel sustainability of Derrick Henry taking 26-plus carries every game. “We’ve been able to use him and he’s helped us win a lot of games since I’ve been here. I don’t what else we would do _ throw it 50 times? I mean, who the (bleep) would we throw it to?’’

Fair enough and kudos to Vrabel for saying what we’re all thinking.

The Titans’ receiving corps. has been terrible this season, as the group has struggled as a whole to get separation and make plays.

Despite all that, the Titans have gotten off to a 5-2 start thanks to Henry and the defense. If the Titans can ever get their passing game going they’ll really be in business.
