Timeline of mystery disappearance of Channel 10 presenter Jesse Baird and boyfriend Luke Davies: How a joyful love affair turned from happiness to horror in just two weeks

Television star Jesse Baird hard-launched his new love affair with Luke Davies with a champagne toast in the NSW Hunter Valley just two weeks before the pair vanished from his blood-soaked home.

An urgent search was launched for the couple’s after their bloodied clothes and possessions were found dumped in a skip in Cronulla in Sydney’s south, and Mr Baird’s home was found splattered with blood 30km away.

They were last seen by their friends partying hard at a packed gay nightclub on Sunday night before heading back to Mr Baird’s home – and since been confirmed dead by police.

Celebrity blogger-turned-NSW Police Constable Beau Lamarre-Condon, 28, has been charged with two counts of murder over their deaths.

The pair were both Queenslanders recently arrived in Sydney, with Mr Davies, 29, a Qantas flight attendant, only landing in NSW 15 weeks ago.

He swapped his home in Brisbane, where he had previously worked as a flight attendant for Virgin Australia, for a unit in Waterloo in Sydney’s inner-south.

Mr Baird, 26, a former TV presenter on Ten’s Studio 10 who previously also worked as a producer/presenter for Totally Wild! and Gamify!, moved south in October 2022.

Mr Baird was in a relationship with Lamarre-Condon after moving to Sydney, but the pair had a ‘bad break up’, said friends.

He also confided to pals he feared he was being stalked by a mystery stranger at his rented $3million federation terrace home in Brown St, Paddington, in the city’s east.

Love sparks between Jesse Baird and Luke Davies

But Mr Baird bounced back when he met Mr Davies in January and the pair quickly became a couple frequently spotted together on Sydney’s gay scene.

Mr Davies posted the first photograph of them as a couple on February 5, posing shirtless in shorts at Palm Beach lighthouse, high above the picturesque northern beaches peninsula.

‘Perfect start to a long weekend,’ added Mr Davies. Mr Baird replied in the comments: ‘Must be nearly wine time again’ with a fire emoji and heart-eyed face.

Mr Baird confirmed their relationship two days later with a post on Instagram during a visit to some Hunter Valley wineries on February 7.

A series of pictures showed the couple enjoying tasting sessions at Tyrells and Brokenwood cellar doors, as well as enjoying a game of shirtless tennis.

The photographs, including a selfie of the pair, were captioned simply: ‘You look like I need a wine’, with a pair of champagne flute emojis.

The post confirming the pair’s relationship was liked scores of times by Mr Baird’s friends who added their good wishes in the comments.

A few days later the couple were pictured back together again, dressed in pink to enjoy pop star Pink’s Sydney’s gigs at Allianz on February 9 and 10, although Mr Baird didn’t post the pictures until last Sunday, February 18.

In the interim, Mr Davies, who worked on Qantas international flights, appears to have flown to Canada where he posted snowy selfies from Mt Whistler at Vancouver.

Wild night before mystery

The couple were back together again last weekend when they were seen at the packed Mardi Gras night at the Beresford Hotel in Surry Hills in inner Sydney.

Footage from the night reveals hundreds of shirtless men enjoying a wild dance party at the gay hotspot with sessions by DJs including Little Ray Isaac.

After news broke of the pair vanishing, the DJ posted a tribute on Instagram with an appeal for the couple to turn up safe: ‘Far out man, please pray they are found safe and that we find out what happened.’

The pair are believed to have returned to Mr Baird’s home in Paddington after the night out, and were spotted in the street on a neighbour’s CCTV on Monday.

Neither has been seen since, and family and friends have been unable to contact them.

Neighbours told police they heard a commotion and some shouting that morning – but never thought it was worth reporting until they were later quizzed by detectives.

Jesse Baird and Luke Davies’ last posts

One friend of the couple claims the pair posted a story on Instagram around 4.45pm on Monday with selfies of the pair at a national park in Sutherland, close to Cronulla, although the post has since disappeared.

The following day, friends say Mr Baird was having conversations on social media and his WhatsApp status logged him as last being seen at 11.45pm on Tuesday.

But since then, there has been no trace of either of them. Mr Baird was reportedly set to fly to Perth on Wednesday but did not make the flight.

Around 11am on Wednesday, a groundskeeper alerted police when he found blood-stained clothes and possessions in the skip outside Club Cronulla in Sutherland Shire in Sydney’s south.

Detectives were called to Wilbar Avenue just after 11am on Wednesday

Police found credit cards, wallet, a watch worth $8000 and bloodied clothes belonging to both Mr Davies and Mr Baird, sparking an urgent inquiry.

Grisly discovery in Paddington

It led detectives to Mr Baird’s home in Paddington, where they found ‘large amounts of blood’ including pools of blood which had drenched the floorboards and someone had attempted to clean up.

Furniture was also broken and blood-splattered – but there was no sign of either man. Police also checked Mr Davies’ home in Waterloo but found no trace of anyone there either.

Police also seized three cars, two said to belong to Mr Baird and third owned by Mr Davies, and at least one iPhone.

A forensics team worked through the night looking for clues before police launched a public manhunt for both men on Thursday admitting they had ‘grave concerns’ for them.

‘We do believe from the crime scene at Paddington and from property that was located at Cronulla, that there has been some sort of incident that has more than likely occurred at the Paddington address,’ said Detective Superintendent Jodi Radmore

‘And that has given us grave concerns for one, possibly both, their fates.’

At Thursday’s 3.15pm press conference, police said they had not ruled out a third person being involved but were primarily focused on finding the two missing men at that stage.

Hunt for Beau Lamarre-Condon

But just a few hours later, police admitted a serving police officer was now also feared to be involved in the case.

Detectives had been unable to find Constable Lamarre after they were told of his relationship with Mr Baird, sparking a new manhunt.

He was reportedly on sick leave this week and was not responding to phone calls.

On Friday morning, Daily Mail Australia revealed Lamarre-Condon’s phone had been switched back on just before 10am.

Around 30 minutes later, he handed himself in to detectives at Bondi Police station where he was arrested and taken to Waverley Police Station for questioning.
