The Santa Clause is coming back to town.
Tim Allen is getting in the Christmas spirit by reliving his transformation into Kris Kringle, whom he played an initially reluctant version of in The Santa Clause.
“Woke up this morning and noticed a bit more stubble. This always happens to me as I transition to you no who this Christmas,” Allen posted on Twitter, along with a photo of his Santa-like beard.
In the 1994 movie, Allen’s character Scott Calvin transforms into Santa after accidentally causing the real Saint Nick to fall off his roof. Despite efforts to shave and dye his mane, Scott magically develops a long beard, big belly, and full head of white hair (not to mention a craving for milk and cookies).

After some initial hesitation and schooling from his elves, Scott takes up the mantle for good, and the film’s two sequels follow his shenanigans in the North Pole. The Santa Clause 2 premiered in 2002, and 2006’s The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause was the final film in the franchise.
After the first The Santa Clause, Allen famously went on to star in the Toy Story films. His current sitcom, Last Man Standing, is set to end in 2021. The actor has appeared in two more holiday films, 2004’s Christmas with the Kranks and the 2017 black comedy El Camino Christmas.
And in a year when so many movies have been canceled or postponed, there will still be plenty of holiday movies to binge this winter. Holidate starring Emma Roberts dropped recently on Netflix, while Happiest Season with Kristen Stewart is debuting Nov. 25 on Hulu.
In December, Lifetime will also roll out its first LGBTQ Christmas movie The Christmas Setup, as well as A Sugar and Spice Holiday, its first Yuletide feature centering on a Chinese American family.
