THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER Official Trailer Sees Gorr The God Butcher Set His Sights On The God Of Thunder
Gorr #Gorr
Following a quick teaser that was attached to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness last month, Marvel Studios has finally launched the official trailer and poster for Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder.
This new look at director Taika Waititi’s Ragnarok follow-up is absolutely epic, as our beloved God of Thunder (Chris Hemsworth) squares off against his most deadly adversary yet: Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale)!
While Bale’s God Butcher is undoubtedly the trailer’s biggest reveal and should raise your hype levels to the max, the trailer does also offer much better looks at the Mighty Thor (Natalie Portman) reuniting with Thor, the returns of Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and Korg (Taika Waititi), and the introduction of Zeus (Russell Crowe).
The trailer is actually the second big launch of day, arriving just hours after Paramount dropped the first teaser for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One this morning. Both trailers are expected to be attached to screenings of Top Gun: Maverick this weekend, so be sure to arrive early to check them out on the big screen!
In addition to Chris Hemsworth as the titular God of Thunder, the cast will also feature Academy Award-winner Natalie Portman as Jane Foster/Mighty Thor, Tessa Thompson as King Valkyrie, Academy Award-winner Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher, Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Jaimie Alexander as Sif, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, 9x Academy Award-nominee Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon, Vin Diesel as Groot, Sean Gunn as Kraglin Obfonteri, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Taika Waititi as Korg, and Academy Award-winner Russell Crowe as Zeus.
Check out the official trailer below:
“Let me tell you the story of the space viking, Thor Odinson…”
The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a search for self-discovery. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
