These 3 video games center LGBTQ leads and romances

LGBTQ #LGBTQ

These video games put LGBTQ characters at the forefront of compelling stories.

Representation in video games still has a lot of catching up to do. But while progress is slow, it’s still happening. These hit episodic video games center on LGBTQ characters without their identities being the sole qualities that define them.

If you’re a fan of bracing mysteries and epic romances, these three video games will scratch your itch this Pride month.

1. The Last of Us Part II is the sequel to the beloved post-apocalyptic zombie adventure game. Ellie identifies as a lesbian and is seeking retribution for a personal tragedy. Her romantic interest is Diana, who identifies as bisexual. Meanwhile, the game also features a trans teenage boy named Lev.

2. Life is Strange follows Max Caulfield, an 18-year-old photography student who can turn back time and uses the power to save her best friend — and love interest — Chloe from being murdered.

3. Tell Me Why is an episodic adventure game that follows Tyler Ronan, the first trans man to lead a video game. Tyler reunites with his twin sister Alyson who he can communicate with telepathically. Together they uncover the mysterious death of their mom in rural Alaska.
