A couple of years ago, Disneyland editor Julie Tremaine sold all her furniture, moved back in with her mom to save money, paid off her credit cards and left the East Coast for California.

Determined to reinvent her career and become a full-time writer, she also quit the only job she had ever had in her adult life.

The first thing she did when she got to Los Angeles: spent a couple hundred dollars on the cheapest Disneyland pass they sold, and as soon as she could, went to the park.
